A matter of perspective?

OK, somebody explain this to me. The headline of the story says, " US students believe the First Amendment guarantees too many rights!" However, it goes on to say 33% of students polled believe the First Amendment goes "too far" in guaranteeing freedom of speech, press, worship and assembly.

Now two things bother me about the article that appeared in USA Today (besides the fact that it is a USA Today article). First is, do these 33% of students realize that the very rights they use to express their opinon is allowed because of these rights that go "too far."

The second, is the simple fact that if 33% do believe it goes "too far" doesn't it mean that 66% DON'T, and since twice as many don't believe it than do... shouldn't that headline read, "US students DON'T believe the First Amendment guarantees too many right"?

Or am I missing something?
