Tuesday, December 12, 2006 How dumb do you have to be?It never fails to amaze me just how stupid people are at times. I of course have talked about this stupidity before, but it is usually teenagers, and we all know how clearly they think at times.But now comes the story of a 35 year old man. Smart enough to be able to escape from prison and avoid detection since last June. Until that is, he started checking his Myspace Profile, consistently from a PA. Library, which enabled the police to track him down and capture him there. Let's run down the stupidity shall we? 1. He used his real name. 2. He consistently checked it from the same location 3. He didn't think to use an anonymizing web site to mask himself at all. 4. He was facing auto theft charges when he escaped, he is now facing aggravated battery, burglary, auto theft and entering in auto charges plus I'm sure there are some charges for the escape itself on the books somewhere. Perhaps it would be best if we kept him behind bars for a long time so that we can remove him from the gene pool. |
