Review: Chicken Little

If you are one of the 10 or so parents that did not take your child to see Chicken Little this past weekend (as I did) or are a fan of Animated movies (as I am), then let me tell you now:

Wow, did this movie s**k!

Unfortunately based on the Box Office, Disney may think they have a hit, and decide that they can go it alone in the Animated Movie Genre. I am here to tell you nothing is further from the truth. If I were an Executive at the House of Mouse, I would be desperately renewing talks to get Pixar Animations back into the fold.

My suggestion, wait for video... no wait longer. Wait until the video comes out + about 1 week, then start scanning eBay, Half.com or Amazon for used copies around the $1.99 range.

The movie is too scary for the under 6 crown, not entertaining enough for say 10 and above. Best audience that will enjoy the humor of this movie is the 7-9 crowd, where things like farting cause uncontrolable laughter.

And Gary Marshall. My goodness, he almost single handedly destroys whatever fun was in this movie, with a simply awful performance. Gary should stay BEHIND the camera where he belongs, and if he MUST get in front of a camera (or microphone, as in this case), keep it to small cameos like in A League of Their Own. Zach Braff and Joan Cusak are good, very good, and their comedic timing is excellent together, but it is not enough to keep Chicken Little from laying an egg.

Don't say you weren't warned.
